Home Remedies & Diet for Body Yeast Infections

Home Remedies & Diet for Body Yeast Infections

Systemic yeast is caused by an overgrowth of candida albicans in the colon and digestive tract. An overuse of antibiotics, corticosteroids, poor diet and stress can sometimes spur this condition. Candida overgrowth can cause headaches, gastritis, yeast infections and even autoimmune diseases such as fibromyalgia. A combination of diet and home remedies can eliminate excess candida yeast from the body.

Diet

Since candida feeds on sugar and gluten, eliminating these two items from your diet can be effective in treating body yeast. This can be a challenge since most commercial breads, pasta, cereal and milk contain gluten. One option is substituting wheat products (which contain a lot of gluten) with brown rice for your favorite foods. Almond milk is another alternative. You should also eat foods with Nutrasweet or aspartame instead of sugar. Limit your fruit to one or two helpings per day because of the fructose. This will help you better control your systemic yeast problem.
Meanwhile, you should continue to eat meat, yams, nuts, beans and grains such as millet, amaranth, kamut, buckwheat and basmati rice. Grains will keep your bowels regular. Also, vegetables have digestive enzymes which can kill candida overgrowth. Vegetables cause phagocytosis which helps white blood cells purify the blood. This process eliminates unhealthy cells which contain yeast, parasites and toxins. You should consider juicing with raw vegetables. This simply entails blending raw vegetables and drinking them. This improves the absorption rate of the vitamins and minerals contained in raw vegetables. Raw vegetables such as cucumbers and radishes also have digestive enzymes which can kill excess yeast in the body. Always wash your raw vegetables as they can have parasites on them. A simple mixture of water and vinegar will be sufficient for cleaning them.

Garlic & Coconut Oil

Try using either garlic or coconut oil along with your diet for treating systemic yeast. Garlic kills candida overgrowth. It also acts as an antiseptic and repairs any residual inflammation after this condition has cleared up. Garlic has digestive enzymes to fight yeast since it is a raw vegetable.
Coconut oil is also highly effective in killing body yeast. It is a safe alternative to certain antifungal drugs like nystatin. Caprylic, capric and lauric acid are the three active fatty acids in coconut oil. According to Dr. Joseph Mergola, "There are studies that show how all the fatty acids work together to kill candida albicans." You should use virgin coconut oil or extra virgin coconut oil, not copra.

Yogurt & Buttermilk

Yogurt and buttermilk contain probiotics or "friendly" bacteria. These bacteria help replenish the body's natural bacteria which erode as they fight systemic yeast. Boosting bacteria levels can help kill off any remaining yeast. It creates a hostile environment for candida yeast and parasites. Buttermilk has been used as a last resort for killing candida overgrowth. It also contains enzymes which kill yeast. Try eating several yogurts and drinking buttermilk each day for eliminating candida overgrowth.
