Great Tips on How to Lose Weight in One Month

Great Tips on How to Lose Weight in One Month

There are two basic methods for losing weight: one is to increase the amount of exercise you perform and the other is to reduce the amount of food you consume. The fastest way of losing weight is through dieting, but in terms of your overall health the best way to lose weight is through a combination of dieting and exercise. Exercise and dieting can be expected to lead to a 2 percent weight reduction in one month.

Get in the Habit of Exercising

In order for exercise to be effective in reducing weight it must be undertaken regularly. The best way of doing something regularly is to make a habit of it. Examples of ways that you can get into the habit of exercising include walking instead of driving to work, going jogging before you shower every morning, or getting a dog to give you a concrete reason to get into the habit of exercising.

Change Your Eating Habits

Alongside getting into the habit of exercising you can get into the habit of eating healthily. On the weekend, make a list of all the meals you plan to eat over the course of the coming week. Then list all the food you will need to buy to make those meals. Then go buy only that food. This works to encourage healthy eating in three ways: 1) You are made more aware of what food you eat; 2) taking time to plan means you can make your own meals, which is generally healthier than eating fast food or ready meals; and 3) you avoid last-minute impulse purchases of fast food.

Change Your Eating Mode

Changing your eating mode is surprisingly effective: most unhealthy eating happens when you are not really thinking about it, or when you are in "automatic" mode. The burger you casually order at the drive in, the bag of potato chips you eat while surfing the net. This sort of eating all adds up. Resolve to eat in one place: sitting at your dining table at home or at the staff canteen at work. Do not eat in "automatic" mode. Eat in "manual" mode so that you eat only when you intend to.

Make Exercising Fun

Find ways to make exercising something that you enjoy, rather than just a chore. One way of doing this is to time yourself jogging a circular route with a stopwatch and then seek to beat that time the next day.
